Woman Found Shot to Death Identified

Amanda Stratford, whom police say was known as 'Money,' was found dead in Easton's West Ward Sunday.

Her name was Amanda Stratford, but in the world of the Easton area drug trade, she went by the name "Money."

That's according to Easton police, who are hoping someone will come forward with information that can help find whoever shot and killed Stratford Sunday night.

"Some people only knew her by the street name 'Money,'" Lt. Matthew Gerould said Thursday afternoon, soon after Stratford's identity became public.

Stratford, 28, was found shot to death in a pick-up truck on the 100 block of S. Peach Street late Sunday night.

Police say witnesses heard gunshots in the area before the woman's body was discovered.

Gerould said that although Stratford was involved in the drug trade in and around Easton, it doesn't mean this was a drug-related killing. He declined to say where Stratford was from.

Although police have not commented on a motive, they have said they believe Stratford knew whoever killed her.

Police ask anyone with information to call detectives at 610-759-2200, 610-250-6656 or the police tip line at 610-250-6635.

This is the second deadly shooting in Easton this year. Damien Robinson was killed in February at Eddie G's, a now-closed downtown bar. The investigation into his death is before a Northampton County grand jury.

Stratford and Robinson's deaths are two of the four unsolved homicides in Easton in the last 12 months, along with the shooting deaths of Ervin Holton and Paul Murray, which happened within days of each other on the city's South Side.

  1. Stratford is the first female homicide victim in Easton since Christmas Eve 2010, when Kimiko Moon was shot and fatally wounded at her home in the city's Highlands section. Her killer, John McGlinchey III, pleaded guilty the following year.
