Braden Airpark Will Remain Open Through April

Airport authority wants to give Northampton County and pilots more time to work out a deal to buy the air park.

You've heard of the Little Engine That Could?

Braden Airpark seems like the Little Airport That Could.

Having already avoided closure in June, the Forks Township airpark got another reprieve Tuesday when the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority decided to keep Braden open through April 30 of next year.

That's according to the Morning Call, which says the authority wants to give Northampton County Executive John Stoffa and local pilots more time to work out a deal to buy the airport.

The airport has been a hot topic in Forks Township as officials worry about its future and what potential development could replace it.
