Cornell Caps First Year as Forks Township Manager

In a letter to residents in the Forks Township newsletter, Township Manager John Cornell tells of the accomplishments and work to be done.

John Cornell now has a year under his belt as Forks Township manager.

Cornell took time out to dash a note to residents for the township's newsletter, recapping his first year and discussing the township's future.

"I have appreciated the cooperation and assistance of the Board of Supervisors, staff and residents," Cornell said.

Cornell mentioned the addition of the amphitheater drawing residents for free movies and concerts and how a new public works building is almost completed.

He said the township was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy last fall, but complimented the township's emergency personnel — police, fire, public works — for helping Forks ride out the storm.

Since then, Cornell said the township's website has been upgraded to provide tips and information on how to handle an upcoming storm and who to contact in an emergency.

Cornell said the township is also embarking on "an aggressive" seven-year financial plan, a "financial road map" for the future.

Cornell concluded his letter by letting the public know that he can be contacted at 610-250-2251 or at jcornell@forkstownship.org.
