Forks Public Works Facility Update Meeting Set
Meeting will discuss $3.7 million planned construction
A special meeting of the Forks Township Board of Supervisors will be held tonight to provide an update on the proposed Public Works facility.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:15pm in the municipal building at 1606 Sullivan Trail.
In December, the township approved the construction of a new one-story, 23,000-square-foot public works facility to be constructed on a 53-acre township owned plot formerly known as the Remaly property at Newlins and Richmond roads. Architectural firm Kimmel Bogrette & Site Inc., of Conshohocken prepared plans for the project.

Earlier this month, the supervisors unanimously rejected all 12 work proposals for the estimated $3.7 million project after all came back exceedingly higher than expected.
The lowest proposal for general construction was $4,350,000 and the highest was $6 million. Add in the lowest proposals for mechanical, plumbing and electrical work and the estimated cost for the project is $5,293,470, according to Supervisor Robert Egolf, who is also sits on the public works committee.
