Forks Seeks New Fire Vehicle

Forks Township Finance Director Jim Farley said funds sought from a casino grant.

Finance Director James Farley told the Forks Township at Thursday night's meeting that he is applying for uncommitted funds from a casino grant to replace a fire vehicle.

Farley said the vehicle is a large pickup truck that carries support supplies for rescue missions.

The truck would replace one that is going out of service after 23 years, Farley said.

The cost of the new vehicle would be $71,000.

Farley said that he, Township Manager and the fire chief believe the expense is worthy.

The township had until Friday to file an electronic submission for the grant. The supervisors approved a motion to apply for the grant.
