Leaf Leader Fights Cigar Regulations

On Tuesday night, at the in Forks Township, patrons started setting up games for Poker Night.

And nothing complements such a card game than a good cigar.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is considering , which may include banning certain flavors, requiring health warnings, limiting sizes and the amount of nicotine and imposing restrictions on the marketing and sales of cigars.

, Leaf's chief operating officer and certified master tobacconist, and other cigar business leaders, are fighting those regulations.

Brown joined U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey and others at Cigar International in Bethlehem Township Tuesday to speak out about the regulations that could cripple business at the Famous Smoke Shop in Forks, according to the Easton Express-Times.

They expressed their concerns that cigars shouldn't be regulated like cigarettes.

In a recent interview with Patch.com, Brown talked about the mystique involving cigar smokers.

Brown discussed the health benefits of cigars, saying they aren't as bad healthwise as most people suspect.
