Miracle League Field Construction Progressing

Work continues to get Miracle League complex ready for Sept. 9 Opening Day.

In the back left corner of the Charles Chrin Community Center in Palmer Township, a major project is under way.

It's basically the region's Field of Dreams, a field that will serve as the home of The Miracle League of Northampton County.

And everyone is readying the site for its official grand opening of Sept. 9.

The field will provide an opportunity for children and adults with disabilities to play baseball at a facility that meets the unique needs of the players and their families.

The field will serve the greater Northampton County area. It's easily accessible for residents of Northampton County, Monroe County, upper Bucks County and Warren County, NJ.

Also, the site was selected because the field will be part of a recreational complex where children of all ability levels will be playing side by side with their siblings, friends and classmates in a truly integrated recreational facility.

Palmer Township Supervisors Dave Colver and Bob Lammi are extremely involved in the project.

Lammi serves as vice president of the board of directors for the while Colver's construction company has donated its services toward building the complex.

After a major capital campaign kicked off last June, the took place in December. A lease agreement with Palmer Township was signed in April.
