Mitchell, Young Win Palmer Supervisors Primary

Palmer Township Supervisor K. Michael Mitchell and former Supervisor Jeffrey Young won the Democratic nod for two supervisor seats in Tuesday's primary election.

Palmer Township will be getting a new supervisor next year who is a familiar name.

Former Supervisor Jeffrey Young and Supervisor K. Michael Mitchell won the Democratic nomination for two seats in Tuesday's primary election.

With 75 percent of the precincts reporting, Young received 400 votes while Mitchell got 313 votes.

Challenger Frank Lambert finished with 232 votes.

Young was a member of the Board of Supervisors from 1988-2000. He has also served on the Palmer Township Planning Commission, the Palmer Township Recreation Board, the Palmer Township Athletic Association and is currently a board member of the Business, Industrial and Professional Association of Palmer (BIP).

A seat became open after longtime Supervisor Bob Lammi opted not to run for re-election.
