No Dog Days in Forks Parks Supported

Friends of the Palmer-Forks Facebook page react to Forks supervisors' decision not to have dogs in parks.

So much for the Dog Days of Summer.

With a vote stalemated and defeated last week to allow dogs in Forks Township parks and paths, readers of the Palmer-Forks Patch.com Facebook page commented on what they think of the decision not to have dogs in parks.

"I have a dog, but I still don't think it's a good idea to have dogs there, too many people don't clean up after their dogs and are not responsible," said Cheri Eck Gilbert. "I think dogs running around just cause problems for everyone. They are just to unpredictable..."

"I love it... Don't think the kids should have to play where the dogs have previously peed, etc. Plus many dogs go after each other, growling and fighting," said Jean Marks.

"I think they should have a separate park for dogs only as they have in Bethlehem... one for big dogs, one for small dogs... it works well," said Irene Zaferiou Arno.

"Have to love that because somebody didn't get the outcome they wanted, they decided to vote again when they could manipulate it without cause," said Christine Duffell Eardley. "Shame on them."

"Thumbs down," said Steve Mavrelos.
