No Dogs Allowed in Forks Parks, Supervisors Say

Forks supervisors reverse earlier ordinance allowing dogs in township parks.

The dog days are over at Forks Township's parks.

The township supervisors voted Thursday to reverse an earlier ordinance that allowed dogs into the township park system, according to published reports.

In June, supervisors voted 3-2 to allow dogs in Community Park and other parks and on township bike paths .

One of the three votes in favor of the ordinance came from supervisor David Billings, who has since resigned.

According to the Express-Times, a revised version of the ordinance came before the board Thursday. With Billings gone and a new board member yet to take office, the vote was 2-2, meaning the ordinance died.

The board on Thursday voted to appoint Ed Moore to fill Billings' seat. Moore had been a member of the recreation board, which supported the ordinance.
