Palmer Man Will Judge Other Judges

Superior Court Judge Jack Panella named to Pennsylvania's Court of Judicial Discipline.

Pennsylvania Superior Court Judge Jack A. Panella, a Palmer Township resident, has been named to the state's Court of Judicial Discipline.

Panella, a former Northampton County judge, is the only judge to have served on the court twice. His previous term was from 1997 to 2001.

He's also the only judge to serve as president of the Court of Judicial Discipline and the chair of Judicial Conduct Board.

The conduct board investigates complaints of misconduct about Pennsylvania judges. If the board finds those complaints are warranted, it turns them over to the Court of Judicial Discipline.

The court can then impose sanctions against the judges, ranging from reprimands to removal from office.
