Palmer Passes 2013 Municipal Budget

Palmer Township 2013 municipal budget contains no tax hike for fifth straight year.

Palmer Township's municipal budget is all wrapped up for Christmas.

The Board of Supervisors approved a resolution adopting the 2013 municipal budget -- a budget that does not include a tax increase for residents for the fifth straight year -- at its final meeting of the year Monday night.

"No tax increase," Supervisors Chairman Dave Colver emphasized to residents attending the meeting.

Colver said minor changes were made to the 2013 budget since it was tentatively approved at the supervisors' Nov. 14 meeting.

Township Manager Christopher Christman, who put together the budget with township staff, said the budget has been on display for the public since its tentative approval.

"But we've had no one inquire about it," Christman said.

Meanwhile, supervisors set the tax levy for 2013 at 6.25 mills.
