Palmer Passes Route 33 Tax District Plan

Palmer Township Board of Supervisors will also set up a management board to protect the township's tax interests regarding development around the Route 33 interchange.

After three public hearings, the has set the township up for tax protection regarding development around the interchange.

The board voted Monday night to create a Neighborhood Improvement District in the northern stretch of the township and a management board to oversee it.

Township officials will consider board membership at a future meeting.

The NID will serve as a backstop to a TIF (tax increment financing) that is being set up to cover the first three years of development by the township, Northampton County and the Easton Area School Board. The NID will handle anything after that three-year period.
