Patch voters Say, Save "Cottage in the Woods"

The Forks Township Board of Supervisors will vote on what to do with the vacant "Cottage in the Woods" Thursday night.

A Patch.com poll undertaken last week has revealed that 49 of 51 voters want to save the vacant on Zucksville Road and turn it over to the art society or historical society in Forks Township.

Forks Township supervisors are expected to discuss the building's future at their meeting Thursday night.

One option is to demolish it.

Save it! I grew up on Aaron's Place. We owned our home from 1953 - 2006. So, I've seen that neighborhood go from just a few houses to what it is today. I would love to see that lovely home become something special and remain a part of my history!

Can it be sold? It is so cute and could be a great home! Where is it exactly?

I would buy this house in a heartbeat. My wife and I consider it a dream home. Demolition would be absolutely unacceptable. It is one of the ONLY houses in Forks with real character.

Bill....Town Supervisors meeting Thurs. July 19th 7:30pm....come make an offer! The Art Society would much rather see someone buy the home than to have it demolished for additional parking and access to the park. Neighbors are not happy about that prospect either...plus....the "GREAT IDEA" to tear out the hundred yr. old maples & oaks just to be able to park more cars!!!!!!!!!!!! That's some kind of special "suburban renewal"....have we learned NOTHING from the sins of our fathers? This is definitely a Pave Paradise, Put Up a Parking Lot situation!
