Prior proposals have included items such as reconditioning the tennis courts and basketball court at Community Park, reviewing the bike paths, considering a municipal pool, conducting a study for a possible dog park, adding volleyball courts and possibly adding an outdoor ice skating rink.

"The documents have been in the works for some time," Cornell said at Thursday's meeting, adding that he and incorporated the historical documentation from the February 2010 proposal into this plan along with some other changes.

"The goal is to create a future vision," Cornell said. "The prior document didn't have those aspects." Cornell said once the plan is adopted, a timetable would be established along with a financial structure for getting the plan's goals accomplished.

Township officials want others to sign off first.

"When was the last time the recreation board saw it?" Supervisor John O'Neil asked.

"We need to take it back to the recreation board and get all of their input, the planning commission too," Supervisor David Billings said. "We need a joint recommendation. It is ideal for all boards to weigh in on the document."
