Route 248 Paving in Palmer to Take Longer

Palmer Township officials said Route 248 paving project might not be completed until late October.

The 's repaving of Route 248 in Palmer Township is going to go on longer than expected.

Township officials were told at Tuesday's meeting that the project might not be finished until late October.

Public Safety Director Tom Adams said that PennDOT had planned for the between Route 33 to just before Easton High School on S. 25th Street to last until the end of September.

Work started in early March. Most of it has been done at night with periodic lane closures.

Adams said that now PennDOT wants to add a few more items to its list: replacing medians and doing some additional shoulder work.

"That's going to take two more weeks, maybe four," Adams said as several supervisors expressed their displeasure upon hearing the news.
