When Will New Palmer CVS Open?

The new CVS along Route 248 in Palmer Township appears ready for business.

Palmer Township Supervisor Robert Lammi said he has heard the question often recently.

"When will the new CVS open?"

And like other Palmer Township officials, he just doesn't know.

"I've been asking the same question," Lammi said following the supervisors meeting Monday night.

With the supervisors signing off for Sheetz to construct its gas station and convenience store, the other business in the Northwood Center nestled on a parcel between Northwood Avenue and Kingston Road looks ready to go.

Supervisors and township officials said they were surprised that it hasn't opened yet for the holiday season.

"I don't know an open date," Solicitor Charles Bruno said.

"Maybe January," Supervisors Chairman Dave Colver said.

The Northwood Center includes the CVS, Sheetz and possibly a few other businesses like a bank, although plans for those businesses have not been revealed as of yet.

The Sheetz project has stalled for some time in Palmer Township as the company tried to get approvals from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Palmer officials signed off Monday on a land development deal that will bring a traffic light and other road improvements to Route 248.
