6 Freddy Nominations Each For Easton and Wilson

'The Music Man' scores lead actor/actress nominations, while 'Fiddler' is up for best production by a smaller school.

Easton Area High School and Wilson Area High School both scored six Freddy Award nominations Thursday for their school plays.

Easton's The Music Man's nominations include the awards for lead actress and actor, while Wilson's Fiddler on the Roof is in the running for the award for outstanding production by a smaller school.

Easton's nominations are:

  • Outstanding performance by an orchestra
  • Outstanding performance by a female ensemble member, Savannah Hughes, playing Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn
  • Vic Kumma Award for outstanding solo performance, Nina Attinello, for "Goodnight, My Someone"
  • Outstanding stage crew
  • Outstanding performance by an actor in a leading role, Corey Lopes, as Harold Hill
  • Outstanding performance by an actress in a leading role, Nina Attinello as Marian Paroo.

Wilson's nominations are:

  • Outstanding chorus
  • Outstanding small ensemble performance (Madison Pope, Alexis Washburn and Emily Reiter for "Matchmaker")
  • Outstanding performance by an actress in a supporting role, Sarah Leonhardt as Golde
  • Outstanding featured performance by an actor, Jonah Winkler as Motel
  • Outstanding production number, for "The Dream"
  • Outstanding production by a smaller school

The awards will air on WFMZ-TV May 23. They are held each year at the State Theatre in Easton.
