EASD Copes with Teacher Cuts

Shawnee Elementary School Principal won't let the staffing cuts made by the Easton Area School District get in the way of children's education.

"Children are resilient," Galloway said during an interview Tuesday. "At the elementary level, it's the relationship that children have with their teachers that count the most."

"Most districts are going through common core curriculum standards collectively," she said. "That's a common transition. But it's simple. Education keeps everything running smoothly."

The hope, too, is that students won't notice the staffing changes, a story in The Morning Call states.

While some are complaining about the cuts, most parents have been mum on the layoffs.

Will the district be able to do more with less? That remains to be seen.
