Easton Area School Board shares little with the public when it comes to staffing cuts.

The faces on the people sitting in the audience of an Easton Area School Board meeting last month could be summed up in two words: stunned and bewildered.

Many had just sat for two hours and 30 minutes waiting while the was in executive session discussing personnel matters.

The public figured the board would come out and address cutting numerous . But the board chopped and an administrator at Easton Area Middle School with few explanations, leaving many to wonder just what had happened.

The board basically kept taxpayers in the dark, according to a column in the Easton Express-Times.

Those teacher cuts, while possibly necessary with a budget shortfall, were unexpected.

The board had failed to explain to the public what happened and why it happened. It also ran through the teacher positions cut in mere seconds.

And then everyone departed into the pouring rain.
