Easton Superintendent Becomes Assistant Principal

An Easton Area School District reorganization plan shows outgoing superintendent moving to assistant middle school principal's job.

Susan McGinley's days as the Easton Area School District's superintendent may be coming to a close, but that doesn't mean she's leaving the district.

An "administrative reorganization plan" approved by the school board Tuesday night moves McGinley—whose term as superintendent ends June 30—into a new job.

Under the plan, McGinley becomes an assistant principal at the Easton Area Middle School.

Several other administrators would change jobs as well, including Paxinosa Elementary Principal David Hightower, who would move to Tracy Elementary.

The school board voted last year not to renew McGinley's contract. Her current contract, which will expire at the end of the month, guarantees her another administration position within the district.

District Chief Operating Officer Michael Simonetta said that McGinley's new salary will be determined at the July school board meeting.
