Photos: First Day of School at Shawnee
Shawnee Elementary School and others in the Easton Area School District opened their doors for the new school year Monday.
The in Forks Township was among the schools in the that opened their doors Monday for a new school year.
The K-4 school welcomed back students for a half-day Monday. Another half day is scheduled for Tuesday with full days Wednesday and Thursday before closing for the Labor Day holiday weekend Friday and Monday.
The district has been hit hard by during the summer as school officials try to close a major budget deficit window.
