This Week at Eagles Camp: 'All Business'

The Philadelphia Eagles reported to training camp at Lehigh University this week with hopes of getting back to their winning ways after an "off" season last year.

Editor's Note: This is the first in a weekly report every Friday about the Philadelphia Eagles in training camp at Lehigh University.

Those were the words star running back LeSean McCoy used when he reported along with the rest of the veterans of the Philadelphia Eagles to training camp at Lehigh University Wednesday.

"It's all business."

It's probably the slogan that coach Andy Reid, quarterback Michael Vick and wideout DeSean Jackson are also saying to everyone who will listen.

This year, the Philadelphia Eagles need to take care of business. In other words, they need to get back to their winning ways and try and capture that elusive Super Bowl victory that has yet to be blessed upon this franchise.

So far, Reid is pleased with the leadership role that Vick has assumed. He told The Morning Call that what Vick did in the offseason has set the tone for the team this year.

The full squad had a closed practice Thursday with practices with full pads open to the public starting on Friday. Those practices were changed to afternoon sessions this year to give fans a better chance of seeing the team in action.

The Birds are trying to take care of business this year.

You won't find talk in camp about any "Dream Team." And you won't hear anyone complaining about any free agent acquisitions or their contracts.

What you'll see in camp is a team going about its business, trying to fix its weaknesses and bolster competition for jobs, like the signing of former Pro Bowl punter Mat McBriar to compete with incumbent Chas Henry.

And while defensive tackle Mike Patterson might be out all season recovering from brain surgery, rookie Fletcher Cox just might show why he is the monster that made him the team's first-round pick.

It's going to be an interesting camp.
