Beer Will Pour Again at Forks Community Days

Forks Township Community Days is the weekend of Sept. 21-22.

Got Beer?

Forks Township Community Days will once again as the beer tent makes an appearance for the third straight year for the event on the Sept. 21-22 weekend.

Last year, officials worried about allowing patrons who purchase beer at the tent to roam the fairgrounds at Community Park with the alcoholic beverage.

But Brian Lokitis, who runs Forks Community Days, stressed that there were no incidents last year.

Lokitis appeared before the Board of Supervisors a few months back to plead for the beer tent. Proceeds from beer sales help offset expenses for the Business and Commerce Association of Forks Township.

"We request to have this again this year in the same format," he said. "I think it went very well. And I think we didn't have any incidents and followed Chief Dorney's advice for how to prepare for it."

Police Chief Greg Dorney backed up the statement.

"There were no alcoholo-related incidents," the chief said.
