For most of us, the best places are usually a little closer to home. And since Pennsylvania is surrounded by land, most people head to the Jersey Shore.

My family has spent the past 25 years usually spending a week in Ocean City, N.J. It's got a great boardwalk and nice beach and is very family-oriented.

During my college years, I spent some time in Avalon, Sea Isle City and Stone Harbor.

But, growing up, it was Seaside Heights and Island Beach State Park.

Sharon Lippery Wilson also likes Island Beach State Park and the Seaside Heights boardwalk. She enjoys Wildwood Crest, but states that Seaside Heights is just closer.

Bud Seibel used to also go to Seaside Heights growing up. Then he took his kids to Long Beach Island and Wildwood. Now he spends his time in Ocean City and Ocean Grove.

Tracey Gilbert Mellor likes Long Beach Island as well. She also has "tons of memories" at Barnegat Light.

Melissa F. Manazer Hess favors Wildwood Crest while Sue Griffiths Gardner is a fan of North Wildwood.

For Carolyn Gioia, the place is Long Branch. She likes the Pier Village and says it has great hotels, shops and food and a great beach with cheap access. Gioia also says it's only an hour south of Newark Airport.
