Palmer Plans First 5K Run

One new feature of this year's is a run that will help raise money for the Miracle League of Northampton County.

Organizers from the Business, Industrial and Professional Association of Palmer Township hope the event becomes an annual tradition.

The event takes place Saturday, Aug. 18, at 9 a.m. with registration and racebag pickup starting at 7:30 a.m.

Shirts will be given out to the first 250 registrants. Teams are encouraged to participate!

There will also be awards for age groups, under 9 to 60 plus, and overall top male and female winners. The event also includes raffle prizes.

BIP is seeking funds to support the being built on the grounds of the . The field is expected to be ready for a Sept. 9 ceremony.

This run is being held the same weekend as Palmer Community Days, which kicks off Wednesday with a Movie Night and runs through Sunday.

Community Days features live music, food, kids rides, fireworks and more.
