Junior Firefighter 5K, School of Rock Concert Highlight Weekend

Wizard of Oz, Halloween Haunt among activities

It's time to run and rock out in the Palmer and Forks township area this weekend.

  • The 10th annual Junior Firefighter 5K Run in memory of Sean Cameron takes place Sunday with registration starting at 7 a.m. Visit the Forks Township website for more details.
  • Come Celebrate the Harvest at Franklin Hill Vineyards.  We'll be offering complimentary tastings all day, walking tours of the vineyard and winery at 12:00pm and 2:00pm Sunday.
  • The Easton and Nazareth farmers markets should still be in full bloom from morning until early afternoon Saturday.
  • Celebrate the Wizard of Oz at the Lehigh Valley Mall Sunday for a special experience as the shopping center celebrates The Wizard of Oz’s 75th Anniversary from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Easton's School of Rock will be holding a concert Saturday, playing Psychedelic Rock songs from Woodstock era to more current material.
  • And visit Rita's locations on Sullivan Trail and William Penn Highway before the Italian ice season is over.
  • Halloween Haunt opens Friday at Dorney Park,  4000 Dorney Park Road, South Whitehall, with mazes, scary creatures and thrill rides. (Not for anyone under 13, according to the park website.) Park hours are 6 p.m. to midnight, Friday; 11 a.m. to midnight, Saturday.  Tickets begin at $30.99. https://www.dorneypark.com/haunt
