Report: Alcohol Involved in Fatal Forks Crash

Coroner said Forks Township man had more than three times the legal limit of alcohol.

Alcohol contributed to a fatal crash in Forks Township that killed a father and his young daughter in November, authorities said. Northampton County Coroner Zach Lysek said Friday that Charles C. Eberharter had more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system, according to the Allentown Morning Call. His blood-alcohol content was 0.29 percent. The legal limit is 0.08 percent. The story states that the coroner also said that Eberharter had medication in his system, but didn't say whether that contributed to the crash. Eberharter, 47, and his daughter, Juliana, 6, were killed in the one-vehicle crash on Paxinosa Road East in late November. The two lived on the 500 block of Paxinosa Road East near the crash site. Accident Shuts Down Route 22

Highway shut down between Route 33 and the 25th Street Exit.

WFMZ reports that an overturned vehicle near the 25th Street Exit in Palmer Township has shut Eastbound Route 22. The accident occurred at about 10 p.m. Sunday, closing the highway from Route 33 to the 25th Street Exit. Emergency radio reports originally indicated it might be a fatal accident, but WFMZ reports this morning that the driver was rescued and flown to the hospital. There's no word on the driver's condition.
