Sponsors and vendors sought for annual Forks Township Community Days in September.
With only four months to go, organizers of Forks Township Community Days are gearing up for the township's annual September event. Community Days Chairman Brian Lokitis, president of the Business and Commerce Association of Forks Township, is putting together plans for the festivities on Sept. 15-16. "This is going to be the biggest year ever," Lokitis said. Lokitis hopes that more people will be drawn from neighboring communities besides Forks Township due to changes in rules regarding the beer tent. This year, patrons will be allowed to carry their beer around the festival grounds where before they had been contained to a fenced-in area around the beer tent. Annual event is being held this weekend.
It's a weekend of Forks fun. The second weekend after Labor Day can only mean one thing -- that Forks Township Community Days has arrived. And this year features a whole bunch of brand-new attractions that promises to make the event the best one yet. "It's become a staple in the township over the past few years," township Supervisor Erik Chuss said. The festivities take place Saturday from 11am to 9pm and Sunday, from 11am to 6pm at Forks Township Community Park on Zucksville Road. This year, a beer tent has been added along with a hot-air balloon launch. And, of course, fireworks will continue to excite the crowd on Saturday night. Another change is the location.
