Fans are petitioning the Philadelphia Eagles to bring back those kelly green uniforms of old
The Philadelphia Eagles have a new head coach named Chip Kelly -- so some fans think that means it is time to bring back the team's old kelly green uniforms. They've launched an online petition to build support and plan to make their case to team owner Jeffrey Lurie. Eagles fans have had much to complain about this season. As the Birds head into their bye week at 3-3, many are calling for some heads to roll. Andy Reid seems to have taken the call to heart. According to multiple reports, the Eagles fired defensive coordinator Juan Castillo Tuesday morning and named secondary coach Todd Bowles as the new coordinator. "I want to make it clear that I have nothing but the ultimate respect for Juan Castillo as a coach and as a person," Reid said in a statement released by the Eagles. "He is one of the finest football coaches that I have ever worked with. He has served this organization extremely well for 18 years and letting him go was a difficult decision. The oldest son of Philadelphia Eagles Coach Andy Reid was found dead this morning in a dorm room at Lehigh University, where the team has summer training camp. Garrett Reid, 29, was found in his bed at the Sayre Park dorms following a struggle of almost 10 years with drug addiction and drug dealing. Reid was helping at camp with players' stength training and conditioning. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made the announcement to reporters after the team's walk-through Sunday morning: "It is a tough morning for all of us in the Eagles family.
