Another Homicide Reported in Easton

Police say 44-year-old New York City man shot and killed at McKeen and Nesquehoning.

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a New York City man on Easton's South Side Sunday night. The 44-year-old man's body was at the intersection of Nesquehoning and McKeen streets around 9:30 a.m., according to Lt. Matthew Gerould. Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek has ruled the death a homicide, but is waiting to notify the man's next of kin before releasing his name, police said. "Tony the Vet" Visits Easton

San Diego man walks the country to bring awareness to veterans.

Armed with a large American flag, Tony LoBue has walked the country. He started on Sept. 10, 2011, going from his home in San Diego, heading east to Ground Zero, advocating for the nation's veterans. And when that trip was done, LoBue, 69, began what he called a "lifelong walkathon." On Monday, his journey brought him to Easton, where he spent some time before heading east into New Jersey on his way to Manhattan. LoBue -- who served state-side in the Army during the 1960s --  bases his work around what he calls the "Three Rs": recognition, respect and rewards for veterans. West Easton Hears Hospital Plan

The borough of West Easton hears proposal to put medical facility inside old mill.

The borough of West Easton says it needs more time to decide on a developer's proposal to turn an old mill into a medical facility. Mickey Thompson, appearing before council Monday night on behalf of developer Abraham Atiyeh, asked the borough to change its zoning to allow Atiyeh to put some sort of medical facility inside the former Chipman Knitting Mills. The mill property -- on East and Main streets in West Easton -- is also the place where Northampton County wants to put its DUI treatment center. County Council will vote next month on a lease for the facility. Home Invasion Reported on Easton's South Side

Three armed men robbed an apartment on Canal Street in Easton Sunday, according to scanner reports.

Three men armed with guns robbed the occupants of an apartment on Canal Street in Easton's South Side early Sunday evening, police scanner reports indicate. Reported at about 6:10 p.m., multiple units had responded to the area and were looking for a dark blue 2005 BMW 325i, which was also stolen in the home invasion, along with the three men, all black and dressed in black, radio reports said. One of the men may have the street name "Sleepy." A man was reportedly hit in the head and bleeding in the home invasion. An ambulance was called, but scanner chatter indicated he was conscious. Police across Northampton County, and also Allentown police, have been notified and are also looking for the vehicle and three men, scanner reports indicate.
