Dixie Worker Hurt in Industrial Accident

A man's hand got caught in a machine at the Dixie plant Friday night.

A 25-year-old suffered an injury when his hand got stuck in a machine at the Georgia-Pacific Dixie plant in Forks Township Friday night at about 8:50 p.m. Initial emergency reports indicated a man got caught in a machine, and just nine minutes later, a second alert stated the man was free from the machine with a hand injury. No one else was hurt. The worker had a hand caught in the production line machine, The Morning Call reports, and co-workers freed him before paramedics arrived. Last Chance: Easton Garden Tour

Self-guided Easton Garden Tour/Fair on May 12 raises funds for neighborhood association.

Are you a fan of flowers? Head to the 2012 Easton Garden Tour and Fair, which kicks off Saturday, May 12, on College Hill. The self-guided tour gives people a chance to see some of Easton's most impressive gardens, many of which would normally be hidden from public view. Post your own events and announcements on Palmer-Forks Patch. The fair, to be held at College Hill Presbyterian Church, will offer visitors a chance to check out garden-themed gifts by local artists, purchase various plants and planters, and listen to a talk by Morning Call gardening columnist Sue Kittek (scheduled for 10:30 a.m.). The tour begins at the church, and runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tour is rain or shine; if it does rain, the fair -- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. -- moves…

Patch 101: Follow These Steps to Add Calendar Events

Want to promote your yard sale or invite the community to the church choir concert? Add it to the free calendar.

Part of Palmer-Forks Patch is our events calendar. We add upcoming events as we hear about them, but we don't know about everything going on in the community. So we need your help. If your church is having its annual picnic, let us know. If your son's soccer team is holding a fundraiser to raise money for new uniforms, tell us where to go to help. There's room for bake sales, yard sales, school events, concerts, lectures, government meetings, fairs and more in our calendar. This is how: Follow these steps to learn how to add your event, and help us fill our calendar. Now the whole Patch community will know about your event, and we might even feature it on the homepage. If you have any questions/problems, e-mail me at jerry.brahm@patch.com.
