Palmer and Forks townships were prepared for a major winter storm, but the National Weather Service downgraded accumulations late Friday afternoon.
A major winter storm that was expected to rip the Northeast and New England Friday night into Saturday may not pack such a wallop in Palmer and Forks townships. The National Weather Service scaled down snow accumulations to 3-5 inches after initial reports suggested 6-10 inches of snow.
