The Philadelphia Eagles announced Friday that they will no longer hold training camp at Lehigh University.
The Philadelphia Eagles are flying the Lehigh Valley coop. After 17 years, training camp will no longer be held at Lehigh University, the team announced on its website Friday. "There are so many people at Lehigh University who went above and beyond to accommodate us and to make Training Camp a special place for fans to travel each summer to get an up-close look at the team," Team President Don Smolenski said. A funeral for Garrett Reid, 29, will be held Tuesday in suburban Philadelphia following his death at Lehigh University on Sunday.
Funeral services for Garrett Reid will be held Tuesday. The eldest son of Eagles coach Andy Reid was found dead Sunday in a dorm room at Lehigh University in Bethlehem. Garrett Reid was staying at Lehigh as part of Eagles training camp. He was helping players with their strength training and conditioning. No foul play or suicide is suspected. Reid suffered a long battle with drug addiction. Shock and sadness gripped Philadelphia Eagles fans Sunday upon learning that the eldest son of Coach Andy Reid had died. At training camp at Lehigh University between practices Sunday, fans milled around the merchandise tent, some stating "What?" and "That's Crazy" upon being told of the news about the death of Garrett Reid. Others, who had already heard the news, said they were stunned and saddened. "I'm heartbroken for his family," said Jason Turner of Lincoln, who heard the news on the radio while driving up to camp.
