Route 22 ROAD NAME: Between US 22 AND William Penn Interchange
Route 33 commuters should expect slow-moving vehicles, possible lane restrictions and rolling traffic stoppages, according to PennDOT. Work will now begin Thursday.
Work on Route 33 is being delayed until Thursday, PennDOT says. Work was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but due to equipment issues has been canceled and re-scheduled for Thursday, a PennDOT release states. Route 33 commuters should expect slow-moving vehicles and possible lane restrictions, according to PennDOT. Crews from PPL Electric Utilities will be working from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. between the Route 512 (Wind Gap) and Belfast exits in Bushkill and Plainfield townships. There may also be rolling traffic stoppages, PennDOT says. Motorists are asked to use caution when driving through the area.

Police say they had to Taser a Bushkill Towship man who passed them at 101 mph in a wild car chase. He may have been high on bath salts, police say.
Sirens, tire spikes and a crashed car apparently weren't enough to stop an Easton man accused of leading state police on a chase on Route 33. Instead, it took a Taser to bring down Mark Nichols, who was allegedly on bath salts when he passed them doing 101 miles per hour Wednesday night. A police affidavit gives the following account: State troopers at Belfast saw Nichols, 29, of 46 N. Sixth St., speeding south on Route 33 in Bushkill Township around 8:30 p.m. The troopers flashed their lights and sounded their siren to get Nichols to stop, but he kept driving, getting off the highway and making his way to Route 512.
