U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright to Open Easton Office

Palmer/Forks's new congressman says he's setting up an office in nearby Easton. U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright will open an office at 436 Northampton Street, his office said in a news release. He'll operate out of an office on the 9th floor of Easton city hall until the renovations on the building are finished. Cartwright -- who was sworn in earlier this month -- has been named to the house's Economic Development Subcommittee, a joint task force on gun violence, and was elected "class president" of this year's freshman congress. Cartwright, a Democrat, represents the 17th district, which was created in 2011 by redistricting, and is made up of the counties of Northampton, Monroe, Carbon, Schuylkill, Luzerne and Lackawanna.
