"This is something very serious. We've never done this before," Supervisor Bob Lammi said. "This could take months as far as zoning and go on and on. We should move forward with the injunction." Supervisors then decided that developer Abraham Atiyeh should only be given 24 hours to get in compliance or have the court order him to shut off the billboard until he does so. "I think we should file an injunction against him until he gets …

Some residents believe that a digital billboard on Route 22 in Palmer Township is leading to accidents on the highway. Take our poll below.
The new digital billboard on Route 22 in Palmer Township has many issues attached to it, some residents say. They say it's too bright, that it was put up illegally and that it's a public nuisance. But does it cause crashes too? Some residents who appeared at a recent Palmer Township Board of Supervisors meeting told officials about a few crashes that have happened along Route 22 where the billboard has been erected, on the other side of the highway not too far away from the Charles Chrin Community Center. Township officials could only listen. There has been no data to support such a claim, at least on the local level. One resident also proclaimed that it was illegal. Palmer Township resident tells Board of Supervisors that new digital billboard violates zoning codes.
Charles Diefenderfer has appeared before the Palmer Township Board of Supervisors twice this month to complain about the new digital billboard on Route 22 that is blinding—and infuriating—residents. The resident of Hay Terrace—where most of the complaints have been lodged—stated at a recent supervisors meeting attended by a dozen residents that the billboard isn't up to snuff. "It's in violation of township zoning codes," he said. Defanderfer stated that, in checking township meeting minutes and records, he did not believe the sign permit is legitimate. "When the permit was issued, the work was null and void in six months because the billboards were approved in December yet the ordinance was adopted on Dec. 27, 2011," Diefenderfer stated. …
