Suicide by Train Ruled in Teen's Death

A Wilson teen died Sunday after being hit by a Norfolk-Southern train.

A 19-year-old Wilson man died Sunday after being hit by a Norfolk-Southern Train near Island Park Road along the Lehigh River in Glendon, according to Pennsylvania state police at the Belfast barracks. The man's legs were severed, said Easton Police. He died of blunt force trauma injuries at St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill. His death has been ruled a suicide by the Northampton County Coroner, according to a Lehigh Valley Live report. His name has not been released pending notification of his next of kin. A man in his 20s was also found killed on railroad tracks Sunday in Weissport, Carbon County, according to a Morning Call report. Fatal Shooting May Be Gang Related, Police Say

Easton police are looking for two 'persons of interest' following a deadly shooting that may involve members of the Bloods gang.

A man was shot dead after a bar fight early Saturday and Easton police say they're not getting much cooperation from the patrons who were there. They're looking for two "persons of interest" who left the bar after the shooting. Police went to Eddie G's Bar at 1 Lehn's Court at about 12:15 a.m. responding to a report of shots fired. They found a man shot who later died at a local hospital, although police did not identify which one.  Northampton County Coroner Zach Lysek ruled the death a homicide. It was the city's first homicide of the year. The victim is Damien Robinson, also known as Damien Frazier, 33, of the 1300 block of Lehigh Street, according to a Morning Call report.  An argument and fight among "numerous individuals" in the bar …

Palmer Man Charged With Easton DUI

Justin Rowlands, 23, cited for drunk driving after traffic stop on North Third Street.

Easton police say a Palmer Township man who was stopped for driving without his headlights on had been drinking before he got behind the wheel. Justin Rowlands, 23, of the 4000 block of Crestview Ave., was charged Wednesday with driving while under the influence. According to police, Rowlands was pulled over on the first block of North Third Street at 1:57 a.m. on January 12 after an officer noticied his headlights were off. Police say Rowlands failed a sobriety test, and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. A blood test later confirmed Rowlands' blood alcohol level was over the legal limit, police said.

Samurai Sword Lady Kicked Cop, Say Police

A woman arrested for hitting her boyfriend with a sheathed sword faces new charges.

A Easton woman charged last week with hitting her boyfriend with a partially opened Samurai sword is facing additional charges. This time, Daisy Estremera, 50, is charged with kicking the city police officer who accompanied her to Northampton County Prison during the arrest process. Patrolman D. Timothy Wagner writes in a criminal complaint that while escorting Estremera inside the prison at 3:37 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 19), she turned away from him and kicked him in the right knee, causing his leg to buckle and swelling and pain to the knee. He said that before she kicked him, she refused to walk to the prison’s processing center, forcing him to make several requests for her to continue walking. Police: Meth Lab Busted in Wilson

Investigation in Easton leads police to home in Wilson, and four arrests.

Easton police say they uncovered a meth lab in Wilson Friday morning. According to police, the raid at 6 a.m. at 120 N. 15th St. came after several weeks of investigation of meth trafficking in Easton.  Inside the building, police found 12 people, four of them children, as well as equipment used for making methamphetamine. The state police Clandestine Laboratory Team came to process the scene. Four people were charged following the raid: Incay and Stocker were arraigned Friday afternoon before District Judge Richard Yetter, who set their bail at $100,000. Stocker seemed concerned about the charges against him -- all of which could land him in jail for 10 or 15 years if convicted. He spoke up several times before and during the araignment…

Palmer Man Faces Easton DUI Charge

A Palmer Township man is facing a DUI charge after a traffic stop in Easton Saturday. City police say Damian Gonzalez, 26, of 14 Brentwood Ave., was spotted squealing his tires in Centre Square, and then turning left in front of another driver who had the right of way, all while driving with a broken taillight. Gonzalez failed a sobriety test and a Breathalyzer test, police said. He will be charged via summons with driving while under the influence and traffic violations.

Four of the people involved in a shootout Saturday at a Bethlehem nightclub are from the Easton area, Northampton County's District Attorney John Morganelli said Monday. Police Seek Van in Easton Homicide

Ervin Holton, of Easton, died of multiple gunshot wounds Friday night, Northampton County Coroner says.

The victim of a fatal shooting in Easton Friday night has been identified as Ervin Holton, Northampton County Coroner Zach Lysek said Saturday. Holton, 43, of the 100 block of S. Ninth Street, Easton, died of multiple gunshot wounds after being shot on W. St. Joseph Street, Lysek said. Lysek said the homicide investigation is ongoing. A release issued Saturday afternoon stated that Easton Police detectives are searching for a van in connection with the homicide. The black/dark colored Honda Odyssey had traveled south on Smith Avenue and parked in the 200 block of Madison Street, police said. Man Shot in Easton Friday Night, Coroner Called

Police are investigation a fatal shooting on Easton's South Side.

Easton police are investigating a fatal shooting on the city's South Side Friday evening. Police cordoned off the 100 block of West St. Joseph Street, and had removed a body from a home there just after 9:30 p.m. Northampton County Coroner Zach Lysek was on the scene, and has ruled the death a homicide, police said. According to police, officers were called to the scene at 5:45 p.m. for the report of gunfire, and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Police are looking for two men connected to the shooting. They were seen running from the scene, heading "west on St. Joseph’s Street or south through the parking lot of neighboring businesses," a police news release said. Police: Forks Woman Bit, Scratched Husband

Shelia Gallagher charged after domestic altercation Wednesday in Easton.

Easton police say a Forks Township woman assaulted and bit her husband on College Hill Wednesday afternoon. Shelia Gallagher, 62, of 2805 N. Delaware Drive, was charged with simple assault and harassment, police said. According to a news release, police responded around 2 p.m. to a report of a domestic disturbance in the fire alley between Cattell and McCartney streets. There, they found Thomas Church, Gallagher's husband, with scratches, brusies and bite marks. He told police Gallagher -- who was still on the scene -- had assaulted him. She admitted to the assault, police said, and was taken into custody, arraigned and released.
