The French with their rich cuisine are thin because they are streetwalkers – but not in a bad way.
How is it that the French – whose national symbol is a pound of butter in the shape of a guillotine – are so darn thin? OK, the part about the butter guillotine I made up. But still. The French practically bathe in butter or at least their food does and yet the streets of Paris are littered with gazelle-like women who barely weigh 110 pounds soaking wet. But here’s the thing: the French walk. A lot. And that’s partly because their cities and towns are laid out in ways that make them very walkable and bikeable. Americans who visit Europe often return home marveling at how much walking they did in towns and cities that are pedestrian friendly.
